Shel Designs CORE Collection

I have had this idea bouncing around for quite some time. The idea is to create a collection of classic core designs that are essential for your knitwear wardrobe. I want to create designs that you will love to knit, love to gift, and most importantly, love to wear. I think this is a really great idea, but there’s been a piece missing. The piece I was missing are the MODs - design modifications that can be made to the CORE design. Once that idea popped into my head, I was really excited and got started immediately. 

Here is how the Shel Designs CORE Collection will work:

I have created the first CORE design, as well as several MODs for this design. CORE 1 is a fingering weight top-down circular yoke pullover. The CORE pattern has multiple options such as several sleeve lengths, different neck edge options, multiple yarn/fabric options, etc. I will also show you where you can make other fit modifications, such as yoke depth and body length. Using the CORE pattern alone, you can create an unlimited number of pieces. This system allows you to create pieces for your wardrobe that you can wear year round.

My hope is that you will use the CORE pattern as a template and create pieces that are perfect for YOU.

Once you have done that, you can have fun playing around with the MODs. So far I have six MODs knitted for the CORE 1 design and several more on the needles. They use a multitude of different design elements, such as striping, stranded colorwork, texture and several of them use mini skeins. I will be releasing the first two MODs along with the CORE 1 pattern. The other MODs will be released once the patterns are ready.

You will need to purchase the CORE 1 pattern in addition to the MODs, as the MODs enhance the CORE pattern. You can find the CORE 1 pattern Here

Due to the multitude of options offered in the CORE patterns, they will cost more than the MODs. Each CORE pattern will be $20 and each MOD pattern will be $5. You will need to purchase the CORE pattern in order to make any of the MODs. Once you have the CORE pattern, you can then add any of the MODs you desire. The MODs will show you where in the CORE pattern you will be making the modifications to the design.
